UN-GGIM Academic Network is organizing a side-event on “Trustful and Ethical Use of Geospatial Data: the Role of Academics” at the upcoming 12th UN-GGIM Session. This side event will get together the Academic Network members, key people from UN-GGIM regional committees and working groups, and other interested participants to explore gaps, challenges and opportunities facing geospatial data trust and ethical use of them. At this event, we aim to achieve the following:

  • Share experiences on incorporating trust and ethical use in geospatial information management;
  • Discuss what is needed and what is urgent for better addressing the related issues, and how the Academic Network can contribute; and
  • Explore the role of academics in promoting trust in geospatial data and its ethical use.

For more information and draft agenda, please review the concept note here.

We hope to see all members who are able to participate at the 12th session join the discussion.
