Inaugural workshop on Remote Sensing & GIS for Sustainable Development at AMU, Aligarh, India

UN GGIM Academic Network has been informed that a one-week workshop (18 – 23 July, 2022) on “Remote Sensing & GIS for Sustainable Development” was inaugurated on 18th July, 2022 in the Interdisciplinary Department of Remote Sensing & GIS Applications, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). This workshop was part of a professional development of senior secondary school teachers in the field of GIS technology. During the inaugural ceremony Dr Haris Hasan Khan, chairperson of the department, discussed the achievements and contributions of the department, and emphasised that the workshop is being conducted with an objective of capacity building in geospatial technology in AMU schools. Dr Haris also emphasized the importance of open source software and freely available geospatial datasets in capacity building activities.
